He has been involved in supporting Veterans in southeast Minnesota for over two decades. Scott’s passion
for serving his community comes from his Grand Father (Former POW, Prisoner of War). Scott followed his
Grandfather advice and has been involved in many programs/events/groups that support Military in SE
Minnesota.
Scott is married to the love of his life Monica and they have two children Michael and McKenzie.

POW/MIA Riders and Patriot Guard.
Avid motorcycle rider, been attending Sturgis Rally every year since 1996, he was also part of Rolling
Thunder in 1999.

Born and raised in SE MN; Don graduated from Stewartville High School in 2008. He has been member of the
POW/MIA Riders Association since 2012. Don has been the secretary since 2018. Don joined the POW/MIA
Riders Association due to his passion to serve those who have protected and fought for our freedom and
rights. Don is married to his wife Ciara and they have a daughter named Sophia
Donald Nelson, Treasurer
Born and raised on a century farm homesteaded by his great grandfather in the 1950s. Farmed until the
mid-1980s when he went to law school at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul MN. After obtaining
a
law degree, he began practicing law in Dodge County, MN. At the same time, he was in the Minnesota
National guard.
Rod ultimately attained the rank of Colonel and retired from the Army Reserves
after
serving 32 years and a deployment to Iraq in 2005/2006. He finished his military career as a Brigade
Commander in the Army Reserves. With his veteran status, he stays active as a member of the Rochester
VFW.
Pseudo retired and not employed on a fulltime basis.
Rod maintains his law license and practice
out
of my
home which includes a contract as the city Attorney for the City of Hayfield. He’s also a county
commissioner for Dodge County.
He has been elected 4 times over the last 20 years and was recently
elected
for another 4-year term running until 2023. As a county commissioner he was on numerous boards and
committees for which he is currently the chair of the Health and Human services policy committee for the
Association of Minnesota Counties.
His schooling includes: A.A.S. in Ag Business Management for the University of MN; B.S. From Winona
State
in Business Management; J.D from William Mitchell College of Law; and a M.S. for the Army War College in
Strategic Studies.
His hobbies include motorcycles, fishing and woodworking. Active with the VFW and the POW/MIA Riders
Association as well as support many other programs and groups through his work as a county commissioner
